Turning news into sales opportunities

The challenge

Deloitte’s partners and account managers found they were drowning in news from sales support teams, and unable to react quickly to market changes. Deeper Insights built a prototype Automated Insights app allowing them to have better conversations with clients and close more business.

How AI helped

Deeper Insights were able to use their Skim Engine to process large amounts of news data from source partners such as Dow Jones, Webhose and Twitter. This aggregated feed of data was then used to build topic models for the food and beverage sectors, and accurately identify and extract information about key brands, products and people.

The addition of Deeper Insights sentiment models and further bespoke classification meant each client news story was given a score of importance that meant account execs, sales managers and partners could react to the most urgent news immediately.

The result

Deloitte successfully implemented the app across two account teams, with plans to use the automated insights tool in more sectors and across more global markets soon.
